Join the Seneca Regional Chamber & Development Ambassadors and Heidelberg University for a ribbon cutting and formal dedication of the new Student Athletics, Academic, and Recreation Center on Friday, October 3 at 2 PM. The ceremony will take place at the Main Street entrance of the Fieldhouse, 272 Main Street in Tiffin.
The $27.4 million, fully donor-funded Fieldhouse is one of the most significant facility projects in Heidelberg’s history. At 110,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to serve the entire campus as well as the greater Tiffin community.
The Fieldhouse features three basketball courts, a competition-level indoor track, a turf field for athletic teams and the marching band, training rooms, classrooms, leadership development and team-building rooms, and gathering spaces that support both academic and recreational needs.
This transformational project provides modern practice and competition space for student-athletes while also expanding wellness, recreational, intramural, and club sport opportunities for all students. Academic programs such as Exercise Science, Sport Management, and graduate Athletic Training will gain new experiential learning opportunities in this facility. The Fieldhouse will also enable Heidelberg to host large-scale campus and community events, including Commencement, the Patricia Adams Lecture Series, and other gatherings that bring people together.
The dedication will be held during Heidelberg’s Homecoming weekend and its 175th Anniversary celebration. A brief program will include remarks, the ribbon cutting, and guided tours of this remarkable new facility.
This milestone marks a historic moment for Heidelberg University and a lasting investment in both its students and the Tiffin community.
